Payments & Cancellations
Private students
Students on a lesson by lesson basis must Venmo Serene Vocal Studio prior to their lesson slot.
Tuition for private students is billed on the 1st of the month. If not paid within 24 hours of first attempted billing, a $25 late fee will incur. No exceptions. Lessons are paid for in a monthly tuition payment. Tuition and registration payments are non-refundable.
Cancellation
SVS has a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice for any reason, including illness, will be billed in full. If your lesson is at 3pm on Tuesday and you cancel at 4pm on Monday you will be charged for the lesson.
Illness
If you are ill but are able to sing, you have the option of taking the lesson online. Please do not come into the studio with symptoms. If you are not up to having the lesson, and give less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the time.
Maintaining this policy is the only way I can honor my time, the time of other singers who are looking for open appointments, and other scheduling commitments. I understand this may feel frustrating when things arise that are out of your control, but please do not ask for exceptions.
*A Note About School Musicals: Many of our talented singers participate in their HS musical productions. When rehearsals ramp up they often conflict with lesson times. Please let me know as far in advance as possible what days you will miss so that we can reschedule at a more convenient time to avoid missing multiple lessons.
Make Up Lessons
Make up lessons are only given to students who give advance notice but canceled lessons with less than 24 hours’ notice will not be given a make up lesson. If your lesson is at 3pm on Tuesday and you cancel at 4pm on Monday you will be charged for the lesson and no make up lesson will be scheduled.
Only private students are eligible for make up lessons. Serene schedules a make up lesson day at the end of each semester. Students may schedule up to 60 minutes worth of make up lesson time per semester. Contact Serene for the current schedule.
Group Voice
Group voice students may pay for the full semester tuition cost before class begins or they may opt to pay a monthly tuition fee.

Information
Lessons are given in Saratoga Springs, Utah 84045.
I play vocal exercises and pitches on the piano for whatever piece you are currently working. I also use instrumental tracks in our lessons. However, if you are preparing a difficult piece for an upcoming audition or performance, you may choose to bring in a professional accompanist to your lesson. I can refer you to a pianist if you are in need of a recommendation.
Expectations
Students are expected to arrive on time and with all necessary materials. This may include sheet music (two copies preferably), a recording device (your phone works great!), water, notebook etc. Students are highly encouraged to bring some kind of recording device to record lessons. These recordings are a great tool for practicing.
Setting goals is imperative to improving your voice rapidly. Students are expected to come to each lesson focused on making the most of each minute and each exercise.
Communication
Communication is important. When you get a phone call, text, or email from Serene, please respond quickly. She is confirming lessons for the week or may be working on a scheduling problem.
If you miss two consecutive weeks of lessons without contacting Serene, your lesson time will be forfeited.
